South Carolina's Festival of Flowers, one of Southeast Tourism's "Top 20" events, showcases over 15,000 varieties of flowers at internationally-famous Park Seed's gardens. The week-long event includes private garden tours, arts & crafts, sports, horticultural shows and music for all ages.

Park Seed Company, established in the early 1900s, has become a destination for garden enthusiasts from all over the country as home of the Park Seed Garden Center, acres of trial gardens and an entire facility dedicated to a booming catalog and internet seed business. All gardening enthusiasts are invited to visit the Park Garden Center, open for business from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.

Just south of Greenwood, the Ninety Six National Historic Site is the location of one of the first land battles of the Revolutionary War and a national historic park. Under the leadership of Gen. Nathaniel Greene, Star Fort survived a crucial 28-day siege in 1781, which is reenacted each April. Each October, a candlelight tour of the park is held showcasing the park and its beautiful autumn foliage. Tours are available on a year-round basis.

Located on the edge of the city of Greenwood, South Carolina, Emerald Farm is situated on about 75 acres of beautiful rolling pastures dotted with large sheltering oak trees and surrounded by forest land. Get hands-on experience at the working goat milk farm, or take an educational walk through the herb garden. Visit their soap factory and gift shop where all natural Saanen goat milk soap and body products are made. The Natural Food Store offers healthy snacks, and stroll through the Train and Hobby Shop, bound to stimulate interests of all ages, and don't miss seeing the O-gauge and HO-gauge railroad layouts in the model railroad clubhouse.

Newberry Opera House

The Newberry Opera House has been the heart of Newberry County for more than 100 years, serving as the cultural center of the region. Built in 1882, the historic structure’s French Gothic clock tower dominates the City’s skyline and has, since its construction, been a landmark for the area. After restoration, the Newberry Opera House has once again become a place for plays, art exhibits, musical performances, and social, cultural, and business gatherings.

The Abbeville Opera House was built in 1908 and is fully restored to its turn-of-the-century condition with two exceptions - the addition of air conditioning and rocking chair seats. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the theater uses the same rope pulled rigging systems as in 1908, and is the only "hemp house" remaining in South Carolina . Once again, this "Grand Old Theater" is being used for its original purpose - to present live theater as the cultural hub of Abbeville and the Upstate Region of South Carolina.
